Kristin Kubiac Crain, age 66, of Landrum, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 with family by her side. She was born May 4, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio to Dr. Willis T. Kubiac and Carlyn Kerr Kubiac. Kristin was a 1970 graduate of Whetstone High School in Columbus, Ohio. She attended Ohio State University and Ohio University. Kristin earned her nursing degree from Mt. Carmel and became an operating room nurse. On September 15, 1973, Kristin married Thomas D. Crain. Together they had two daughters, Katherine and Meredith who were raised in Pennington, New Jersey. Kristin dedicated her life to her beloved husband, two daughters and three grandchildren. Kristin's wonderful sense of humor, love for family, friends and animals made her extraordinarily special. Kristin is survived by her husband, Thomas D. Crain of Landrum, South Carolina; daughters and spouses, Katherine "Kacy" Crain (Gary Septak) of Pennington, New Jersey, Meredith Crain Baumbach (Michael) of Scotch Plains, New Jersey; grandchildren, Lola Crain, Ava and Thomas Baumbach. Kristin is also survived by two sisters, Karen Mays of Atlanta, Georgia and Linda Fratianni of Bloomington, Indiana. A private and loving service for immediate family was held at The Glassy Mountain Chapel in Landrum, South Carolina. We are thankful for family and friends who have extended prayers, love and support to Kristin. We kindly ask that any donations in Kristin's name be sent to one of her two favorite charities, Wounded Warriors Family Support or Best Friends Animal Society.
