Kristen Anne LaBarbera Gibbs, 46, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 4, 2024 after arrival at Baptist Health- Richmond.

Kristen was born on September 23, 1977 in Richmond, Kentucky, and was the daughter of Sam and Marian LaBarbera. She was a longtime associate with Meijer.

Kristen enjoyed softball, and loved to cook and host gatherings.

Her greatest joy came from being with family. She especially loved time spent with her granddaughter, Elliana, and was looking forward to the birth of her grandson who was on the way.

In addition to her parents, Sam and Marian, Kristen is survived by: her partner of 27 years, Sam Gibbs III; three daughters, Amaya Gibbs, Alexis Gibbs, and Kyla Gibbs; one grandchild, Elliana Thompson; one brother, Steven LaBarbera (Stacy); an aunt & uncle, Eleanor & Edward Anderson; and a special dog, Nova.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Phelps and Pastor Virgil Gardner officiating.

Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
