Kristen's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kristen Michelle Boyd Kopp, age 55, who left us on April 28, 2026. Born on October 6, 1970, Kristen was a woman of faith, love, and hope in her Savior. Her life was characterized by her outgoing and bubbly personality. She was passionate about her beliefs, devoted to her family, and fiercely loyal.

Kristen was preceeded in death by her mother, Deadra Lawler, her father, Kenneth Boyd, and her step-son, Kase Kopp. She leaves behind a loving family; her husband, William Kopp, whom she married in 2013, her children, Brittany Preas, Curtis Preas, and Ginger Preas. She was also blessed with a step-daughter, Mycah Marasillo.  Kristen was a doting grandmother to Kailah Hopkins and to Dante and Maleena Marasillo.

Her sisters, Jennifer Piedra and Melissa Mota, along with their husbands, Nelson Piedra and Gilbert Mota, respectively, also survive her. Kristen was a beloved aunt to Lillian, Anabelle, Julianna, Madeleine, and Aubrey.

She is survived also by her brother-in-law, Greg Jackson & her niece Bella Jackson, along with  aunts, uncles, and many cousins.   Kristen’s joyful spirit and her love for her family will be deeply missed.

Kristen enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones; that was one of the ways she expressed her love.

Kristen and her husband Bill also have a deep love for animals, caring for countless cats and dogs over the years.  Kristen spent many volunteer hours at Fort Worth Animal Care & Control where her husband works.  She helped wherever help was needed:  supporting the staff, doing laundry and regularly baking treats for the employees.

Kristen was raised in church and she came to see her need for Christ as her Savior and Lord.  In recent years, she attended Gateway Church, where she recommitted her life to the Lord and was baptized.  She loved studying her Bible and was never afraid to ask questions to gain more knowledge about the Lord.  She always had more than one Bible study she was working on!

Kristen's life was marked by her faith and her desire to share her love of Jesus with others. This was a reflection of the gratitude she felt for the gracious work Christ had done for her.  She knew the hope and healing that only Jesus can give.  He was the reason she could still have joy in the midst of pain in all of life’s difficulties.

Kristen leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and authentic faith. Her life is a testimony that Jesus is the Way — only He has the power to fulfill us and heal us. Now she has the ultimate healing and is in His presence!

“We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”   ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

A memorial service to honor Kristen's life will be held on May 16, 2026, at 9:30 AM at North Pointe Baptist Church in Hurst, Texas.
