Kolton's obituary

July 24, 2016, as Utah was gearing up for another holiday of fireworks and barbecues, Kolton Michael Rawlinson was prepping to make his entrance into this world. He didn’t wait for his mama to be ready, she was still convinced it wasn’t time. Kolt had other plans. At 11:23pm and just five pounds five ounces and nineteen inches long, Kolt began his first game of “ready

or nots”. It didn’t take long for everyone to fall in love with the biggest grin, a tiny face could hold. Kolt came to live with Grandma Rhonda and Papa Jesse for his first six months, while Mom became the best version of herself for him and Sissy Kennedie. At six months old, Kolt had no idea he was the missing piece to saving mom and dad’s life. Over the next nine years, day by day and year by year, Mom and Dad beat every battle and every demon to be the best parent to Kolt and Kennedie.

Whether the sun was shining or rain was pouring, Kolt could be found outside, finding mud puddles, running bases, or getting into some type of trouble. Kolt was always up for pranking you when you least expected it. The outdoors was Kolt’s second favorite place only beaten by being anywhere with his dad. Whether it be on the dirt bike and four wheelers or in the garage welding a project for mom, nothing felt better than being with his best friend and hero, his dad. From early on, one of Kolt’s favorite activities was the Spanish Fork Rodeo and fireworks. His mom always told him the fireworks on the 24th of July were the whole state celebrating his birthday.

Kolt’s motto was play hard and love harder. Once you became infected with one of his giant smiles, you were instantly loved by him. Kolt was the thorn in his sister’s side, annoying her like little brothers do. Yet, he loved her deeper than she knew possible. Although she was older, he was the first one to protect her from all the boys. He loved his dogs more than he

loved his video games. He wasn’t shy about letting you know those were his babies. Kolt’s love wasn’t felt just within his family. He held special bonds with the softball family his mom and dad were part of. His love had no bounds or conditions. When his mom told him she was thinking of going back to school, he very proudly told her “don’t worry mom, I will help you with your math, I’m good at math”. There wasn’t anything he wasn’t ready to help you get better at. Recently, Kolt found love for the game of baseball. Whether on the field or in a field hunting, he found a way to make every loss feel like the biggest win. Kolt told his mom and dad constantly that one day he would be internet famous, the most popular TikTok star, and super rich. Kolt, you did it, buddy. Your love and presence has been felt far and wide. The lives you’ve touched, the memories you’ve created, and the difference you’ve made in this world, will forever hold your name. Every game, every ride, every hunt, our forever 9 angel, Kolt, will always be with us.

Kolton is survived by his parents, Hyrum and Jenn Rawlinson, and his siblings Kennadie Rawlinson, Remi and Asia Nguyen, and his Aunt Cece. He is survived by grandma Lori McEwan, and grandparents Jesse and Rhonda Liñan. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kolton is preceded in death by his Nana Terry Pettey, Papa Gery Rawlinson, Pa Bear Mike McEwan, and many others.

A visitation will be held in Kolton’s honor on Friday, April 3, 2026 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home located at 187 South Main St. in Spanish Fork, Utah. An additional visitation will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m., also at Walker Funeral Home in Spanish Fork.
