My deepest condolences to the Shah family on the loss of the Matriarch. She has left a great legacy and lived a good life. May the soul of the dearly departed rest in peace. Amen.

I met Kokila aunty a handful of times at Alpa’s home. My first memory is of how warmly and with open hearts Aunty and Uncle welcomed me to the Shah family Diwali party.

The lasting memory will be of Alpa describing her mother’s journey over the years starting with her immigrating to  the US so many years ago, and I was awestruck and inspired by this incredible, resilient, indefatigable, open hearted, curious, and loving human. Alpa has all these qualities and I see that Alpa and through her Arya are Kokila aunty’s lasting legacy. Rest in peace Kokila aunty.

Kokila was a lovely person, and we shall greatly miss her. Our deepest condolences to Vasant and the family.  Mukta and Anil

Her smile lit up the space. Her food made me feel like being back in India. She and Vasant made their home so open and welcome for all of us. I will never forget being introduced to playing "Joke Partner" and raucous evening that followed........with Koki Aunty being at the very center of it all!!

Koki was the sweetest. Her smile and beautiful energy were contagious. When I think about her, I always remember her laugh. She was so loving and caring; she would make the best chai, the best samosas, and would always check if I’d eaten enough. I cherish our memories together, and I’m so grateful for every moment we shared. Koki was like a grandma to me. I’m deeply saddened by her passing and more than grateful for all the love and happiness she brought to our lives.
