Kohana's obituary
Kohana "Koko" Saieni, known affectionately to those closest to her as Kohana, was born on October 6, 2014, and left us too soon on April 10, 2025. A girl of steadfast kindness, cocoa-like warmth, and radiating positivity, Kohana navigated life with grace and resilience. Her vibrancy touched every life she encountered, leaving a lasting impact that will continue to inspire.
Remembered best for her kind, polite, and outgoing nature, Kohana had an innate ability to light up any room she entered. Her vivacity was infectious, and her spirit, indefatigable. Kohana had a propensity for reminding us all to love ourselves, not for what others perceived us to be, but for who we truly are. It was a lesson she taught and lived by, a testament to her authenticity and inherent goodness.
Among the plethora of achievements that dotted Kohana's life, one particular accomplishment resounded with her the most. As the proud and distinguished winner of a national spelling bee, Kohana not only demonstrated her intellect and dedication but also her strength of character. However, achievements were never the end goal for Kohana. She believed in the process, the learning, and the growth that come from each endeavor, big or small.
Kohana leaves behind a legacy marked by kindness and love. A legacy that will continue to warm hearts, inspire actions, and nourish souls. Her extraordinary yet short life was a testament to the remarkable little girl she was, but her absence will be deeply felt and mourned by us, especially by her two mothers, one of whom I am, and Sammy, her other mom.
In lieu of flowers, we are raising funds for the "Children's Defense Fund". Kohana was far too young to leave, but believed it would be better due to society's unfairness. For those who wish to contribute, you may do so at https://everloved.com/life-of….
As we navigate the reality of our world without Kohana, we remember and cherish the times and the laughter we shared, the lessons we learned, and the love we experienced. Kohana may not be with us physically, but her spirit and legacy will continue to light our paths. We miss you dearly, Kohana.
