Koby's obituary
There are some people who fill every room they enter - with laughter, with music, with warmth. Koby Lee Stevens was one of those people. Born on October 9, 1985, Koby passed unexpectedly on October 11, 2025. He spent his 40 years doing what he did best: turning ordinary moments into memories.
From a young age, Koby loved being active and was proud to play baseball throughout his childhood. Later, he found another passion behind a drum set. Keeping rhythm came naturally to him, and music became one of his greatest joys. Life didn’t always deal him an easy hand, but he faced every challenge with a quiet strength, a big heart, and a deep love for the people who mattered most.
A lifelong New York Yankees fan, he approached his loved ones the same way he discussed a game; never missed a chance to celebrate a win or cushion a loss. But above all, his greatest devotion was to his family. He shared a particularly close bond with his dad, a relationship built on laughter, loyalty, and a shared love of the game. He was also a proud and loving uncle who adored his nieces and nephews and was always ready with a joke, an impromptu drum lesson using whatever items he could find, or a helping hand.
Koby is survived by his parents, Randy and Gina Stevens, and Laura Edwards; Sisters Daney Lee Stevens and Jessica Klunk; brothers Christopher Alpaugh and Gabriel Stevens; grandmother Shirley Wagner; and grandfather Joseph Edwards. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ryand, Jason, and Baby Randy.
Those who knew Koby best will remember his ability to make people laugh, often when they needed it most. He was fiercely loyal to the people he loved, always ready to show up, lend a hand, or crack a joke to lighten the hardest days. That endless giving spirit was both his greatest strength and, at times, his softest spot, but it was what made him so deeply human, and so deeply loved.
