I’m shocked and saddened that I missed the notification of Kirk’s passing. I’m not that good at social networking.

I was actually just going to talk with Kirk about the passing of John Hammond.  He and I had a connection with John when I helped organize a charity concert in Durango many years ago.  Kirk opened for two back to back shows. John signed a bottleneck slide for Kirk.

I hope they will be working on some blues riffs together again while looking down over the many fans who loved them

I met Kirk when i was the General Manger at Wits End. Kiirk would play for us from time to time. Kirk was an amazing human.  I then was working at Virginia's.  And my self esteem was pretty much gone. After loosing my job at Wits End. He was so uplifting, he voice was always so comforting. .  He always knew how to make the people around him feel good. I wanted to make sure I did that too. Plus he loved my desserts so that made me feel so good.  Just such a wonderful friend.  I  miss him so much.

Im so sorry for your loss.

Met Kirk through him being a Ratfink artist and me becoming one.  He was so kind and a heck of an artist in many ways.  His band was amazing and as a person he was so great.  -Jenny and Blake Crozier

Kirk, I'm so sorry you left us way too soon. I looked forward every year to our visit to discuss the new Meltdown t-shirt design. Besides our friendship, I loved your humor, your creativity, and especially, your music.
My deepest condolences on  your loss Mary. He was a very awesome person with a wonderful heart. And I love his songs. I will truly miss him.
We were huge fans of Kirk, and when he was scheduled to play in Durango - we were there!  Such talent, along with being so personable and kind!  Our love and heartfelt condolences are with the family!
I am so sorry to miss the celebration of life for Kirk.  I live in Fort Collins and will not be in Durango on that date.  My deepest condolences to Mary Jo and all of Kirk's family.  Deborah Cowan
