Kindelpitiya "Jaya" Jayawardene, 74, of Troy, MI, passed away on October 28, 2024.
Jaya was born on May 5 to Hendrick and Asilin Kindelpitiya in a family of 4 brothers and 4 sisters in Horana, Sri Lanka. After schooling he became an English grammar teacher. He met and married his wife Leela and moved to America where his two daughters were born. Jaya would go on to ultimately assist so many other Sri Lankan immigrant …
