Kim's obituary
Kimberly Charise Baxter was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 11, 1960, to Nordean and Gloria Baxter. Rev. Nordean Baxter preceded Kimberly in death in 2012. Kimberly was the second oldest of five children.
The Baxter family relocated to San Jose, California in 1972. She attended Hogue Middle School in San Jose and graduated from Camden High School in 1977. She went on to attend Chapman College in Southern California where she majored in communications. It was while attending Chapman College that she met and later married Michael Sharpe at the age of 20. From their union, four children were born and they informally adopted a fifth in 2000.
Kimberly's life was centered around her faith. She first accepted Christ while attending Fifth Christian Church in Cleveland. She was baptized by the late Rev. William Waddell Hannah. Kimberly began her Christian journey by participating on the Junior Usher Board, attending weekly Sunday school, and was an active participant in the Church’s youth program.. Kimberly’s Christian journey also included her membership at Raynor Park Christian Church where she served as S Treasurer and Chair of the Board of Directors under the late Pastor Nordean, S, Baxter.
During their loving marriage, the family continued in service to the Lord under the late Rev. LT Jones. Kimberly also served as first Lady at East Palo Alto Community Church during her husband Rev. Michael Sharpe’s time as their Pastor. She went on to join the Church in Rohnert Park, CA where she worshiped and served the Lord for many years with her fellow Saints until she was no longer able to physically participate.
Her passion for her grandchildrens' educational experience and equality led Kimberly to expand her Community Activism to working closely with the Novato Community Equity Group, a committee that advocated on behalf of minority and disadvantaged students in the Novato Unified School District.
In 2003, Kimberly’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to co-founding her business, ChannelWatch. She worked diligently to disrupt the Market Research Industry by providing quality control and assurance for various industries. After becoming the sole owner, Kimberly shifted her company's focus to become a major competitor in the Behavioral Health Industry.
Kimberly was the CEO of ChannelWatch from 2003 to 2020. In 2021, she officially rebranded her company to become Frontline-Focus LLC. This allowed her to better align the service offerings as an expert in the frontlines of the behavioral health treatment settings.
Kimberly’s words always imparted wisdom and understanding while sharing her love for God and her people. Kim provided a sound voice of reasoning, as a beacon to reality, especially to her beloved children, as well as the children she took under her wing, nurtured and cared for as though they were her own.
Kimberly Sharpe is survived by her husband, Michael and 5 children, Mykah, Marcus, Mitchell, Marla, and Erica. Also by her Mother, Gloria, and four siblings Charlene, Lora, Nordean, Avery, and 7 grandchildren Dakari, Isabella, Aya, Lorenzo, the twins Mia and John, Baby Kim (her namesake), and a host of nieces and nephews.
