We were on our way to Maryland for the summer.  I typically stayed with Aunt Kim and Uncle Jerome in the summer time. This particular summer, Aunt Kim and I were catching a ride down with cousin Lyne. Lyne lived in Virginia at the time and would drive us off in MD on her way to VA. I asked Aunt Kim if I could drive my dad's car from grandma Tish's apartment in Dewittsburg to cousin Vera's in Eastgate where we would meet Lyne.  I was 14 years old at the time but of course Aunt Kim said yes. She is the cool Aunt and would let me do anything. Mind you, my friends and I were driving cars at this age already. We typically borrowed cars from girls we knew, so I could drive... A little. So, I drive over to Eastgate, no problem... As soon as I get to the parking spot to park next to Lyne's car... BOOM, I hit it!  Lyne was very upset, obviously, haha! It's funny now but back then, I was shook.  I thought my dad and Lyne were going to kill Aunt Kim and I. It was longest six our drive to Maryland ever! No one talked the entire time as we just drove in silence to Maryland/VA. I think Lyne is fine now.  I hope my dad paid her for the damages by now since that was 26 years ago!
I'm so sorry for your loss and all of ours.  Kim was one of the kindest and sweetest people I have ever known.  I didn't get to see her a lot in the last couple of years, but I never stopped thinking of her and loving her.  She is truly an angel.
Undoubtedly one of my favorit…
Undoubtedly one of my favorite pictures of us <3
