Kimberly's obituary
In Loving Memory of Kim
June 15, 1971 – July 10,2025
Kim was born on June 15, 1971, in Peace River, Alberta — a beautiful baby with bright eyes and a big heart, who from the very beginning adored her older brother. Even as a child, her strength and spirit shone brightly.
Athletic and determined, Kim thrived in track and field and swimming, earning medals and ribbons year after year. Never one to shy away from a challenge, she embraced a motto that guided much of her life: “What boys can do, I can do better.”
Her love for animals led her to Fairview College, where she studied equine management, combining her deep compassion with her passion for horses. Kim had a natural connection to the outdoors — whether it was fishing, camping, water skiing, or simply being surrounded by nature, she felt most at home under the open sky.
Kim was known for her feisty spirit, infectious laughter, and zest for life. She had a huge personality and a fearless heart, always ready to try anything once — sometimes to her own delight, and sometimes to her mischief. Her adventurous nature and willingness to take risks made her unforgettable.
Life presented Kim with many challenges, but she faced each one with resilience and grit, often forging ahead on her own terms. Her love for her family and friends ran deep, and the love she had for her two children was truly unparalleled — they were her pride, her joy, and her greatest accomplishment.
Kim leaves behind her loving mother “Mommy” Mabel (John), and her father Ernie (Darlene). She is survived by her two cherished children, Brittany (David) and Braeden (Jordyn), and her older brother Troy — her lifelong protector, partner in mischief, and constant source of strength — along with his family: Lori, Nicholas, and Christopher. Kim will also be deeply missed by the entire Schamehorn clan, all the members of the Lorencz family, and by the many friends who were lucky enough to know her.
Though her journey was not always easy, Kim’s strength, laughter, and love have left a lasting imprint on everyone she touched. She will be forever remembered, forever missed, and forever loved.
