My mom was a force to be reckoned with. She was similar to waves at the beach-- gentle and calming but with the ability and power to be fierce when warranted. She survived many things throughout her life and is so brave and strong. To me, any time will always be "Too Soon". I don't think I would ever be able to say good bye even if she lived another 100 years.
But when you think of my mom and her life, I hope you think of how much she lived an brought life into this world with all of your memories of her. It's not about the places she did or did not go, what she did or did not do, but how she spent her time living doing what she did. We went to Ocean Shores, WA frequently to go to the beach and take the dogs to play. Even though we went there probably a hundred times, sometimes even 2 times in a month, it was always a new adventure picking up rocks, looking at driftwood, trying new food, and viewing new sunsets. I've been feeling pretty sad that we didn't get to go to Hawaii more, she loved it there so much, but the times she did go she lived life to it's fullest as she always has! We went to magic shows, comedy shows, ate lots of good food, met lots of wonderful people, pet a lot of cats, watched lizards, explored beaches and lava fields, and so much more!
If you're looking for a way to remember my mom, remember her by treating yourself to a steak and baked potato topped with sour cream, cheese, and bacon! Or a big BBQ Burger, Fish & Chips, a coffee, candy, anything! My mom loved to treat herself and treat others, so indulge yourself in my mom's memory with your favorite treat. She'd tell you to do what makes you happy, so go out there and do it!
