Kimberly's obituary
Kimberly Ann (Vanderbilt) Ivory passed away on June 6, 2022 in Ogden, Utah.
Born on October 9, 1957, Kim spent much of her life early life in Brattleboro, VT and later lived in Newfane, VT where she raised her daughter. She moved to North Carolina in 2009 and finally settled in Utah in 2016 where she lived close to her daughter Sarah Ivory as well as her son in law and grand daughter Harriet. She is predeceased by long time partner Peter Larkin.
Kim was an incredibly kind and caring person who would go out of her way to help others (and especially animals). Above all else she loved fiercely, and she shared that love and devotion with her daughter. In 2021 she was over the moon to become a grandmother (Pippa) and spent many days a week with her "Birdie." She loved children and brought joy and laughter to their faces whenever she could. Her granddaughter lit up to see her and giggled infectiously at her funny antics.
Most people who know Kim will remember that she had a wonderful sense of humor and could have a conversation with anyone. She would give the shirt off her back - quite literally, once taking off her winter coat to give to give to someone in need. She loved all animals and cared for many pets over the years. She was a genuine person who was proud to wear her heart on her sleeve .
Some people may also know that Kim had an incredibly difficult childhood, the effects of which she struggled with throughout her life. One of the great legacies that she leaves behind is her unbreakable determination to break the cycle that so impacted her and ensure that her own daughter was loved and protected. She will be greatly missed.
