Background
My sister, Kimberly Joy Camp Dixon, was in a single vehicle accident outside of Blytheville, AR on May 25, 2021. It was over 24 hours before the hospital could find anyone to contact. She did not have any emergency contacts or next of kin listed anywhere. She was flown to Regional One Trauma Center in Memphis, TN. Kim's chest was crushed. She had a cracked pelvis, shattered ball joint, broken femur and broken ribs on each side. Her kidneys failed immediately, liver began to fail, both lungs were collapsed and her heart had damage. She had 2 chest tubes, 2 drains for infection, CRT dialysis 24 hours a day and all kinds of medications hooked up. She was on a vent as soon as she arrived and after a week, they replaced the vent with a trach. She could not be moved for any type of scans and it took two weeks to find a contusion on the back of her head. Her heart would stop and they struggled to keep her blood pressure and heart rate up. Due to the damage to the heart, she had a pace maker installed for the last week of her life. Kim's oxygen levels were low and she could not get rid of the carbon dioxide thus causing her blood to become acidic.
On June 15th, 2021, our family all agreed to terminate life support, and she passed away within 20 minutes. Kim had no spouse or children. We discovered that Kim had no life insurance or burial insurance. The funeral home agreed to give us 90 days to pay for her burial expenses. She left no estate. Our mother and myself live on fixed incomes, our brother is in law enforcement. We have no idea what her final hospital or living expense bills will be.
Our family would be grateful for any donations that you can make. Her services were at Howard's Funeral Home in Manila, AR. We laid her to rest next to our father. Thank you for your consideration. Contribute
