Kim's obituary

Kim Susan (Perkins) Williams, 68, passed peacefully on Friday, March 29th, 2024, after a sudden illness at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, with her children by her side. Kim was born on March 29th, 1956, in Beloit, Kansas, to Delbert “Max” Perkins and Margaret Ann (Utt) Perkins. Kim “Perky” Williams grew up in Colby, Kansas, graduated from Colby High School in 1974, and later attended classes at Colby Community College. She lived in Colby, Goodland, and Rexford, Kansas, and later Dixon, Missouri, with her children, Damon and Katie.

She was an incredibly hard worker and had a diverse work history. Her most fulfilling careers were as a seismic technician, or "juggy," and her most recent career at Fort Leonard Wood, serving military personnel through her work at the DFAC. She retired in 2015 and enjoyed spending time reminiscing with old friends and classmates, making memories with her children and grandchildren, and resting her eyes while listening to 70's music. Kim will be especially remembered for her smile, laugh, warm hugs, humor, and good vibes. Her happiest moments were spent caring for her mother, children, and grandchildren, and spending time outdoors at home. She enjoyed the feeling of the sun on her face, the breeze of the trees, and an animal on her lap.

Surviving Kim are her siblings, Ann Kohman of Salina, Kansas; Chuck (Winona) Perkins of Colby, Kansas; and Kelly Rall of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

She also leaves behind her son, Damon (Cindy) Williams of Belton, Texas, and grandchildren Alana, Caitlin, and Ellie. Her daughter, Katie (John) Rice of Dixon, Missouri, and grandchildren Bailee, Tanner, and Carter.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents, brother Randy Perkins, and great niece Sydni Perkins. Per Kim’s wishes, no services were planned. In memoriam, live a life of compassion and pay it forward when you are able.

~Goin’ up to the spirit in the sky, that’s where I’m gonna go when I die… When I die, and they lay me to rest, gonna go to the place that’s the best~
