Kifi Yang, 47, passed away on January 23, 2021 after a relentless battle with COVID-19.

Kifi was born in Laos to Toua and Dia Yang on July 19th, 1973. His family moved to France in 1976 and to Minnesota, USA in July of 1992. He studied at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. He was a kind, selfless and giving son, brother, and uncle who was always there for his family. Kifi was everyone's go-to person and he put his family above all. He generously dedicated his time to raising and teaching his nieces and nephews. Every year he never failed to give each and every one of them a Christmas present. He was a father to all of them and they meant the world to him. He enjoyed playing volleyball, soccer, gaming, loved Japanese pop culture and was a great cook. With his brother Roy, they always took their nieces and nephews on road trips to Chicago. He was incredibly patient, spending countless of nights tutoring and working on school projects with them. Kifi was smart and creative. He was good at building anything and everything. He was reserved but he was also undeniably the most reliable person to all who knew him. Kifi was able to do anything he put his mind to and would always follow through whenever anyone asked him for help.

Kifi is preceded in death by his Father, Yang Toua, Brother Tha-yeng Yang and Niece Scarlett Wik.

Kifi is survived by his Mother Dia, Sisters: Lia Vu, Pa Marie Therese Moua, Dou Vu, Hnou-Lay Wik, and Brothers: Paul Yang, Andre Yang, Thomas Yang, Teng-sa Yang.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, February 1, 2021 at St. Vincent's De Paul Catholic Church with Father Becker officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Glenwood Funeral Home.
