Kevin's obituary
Kevin Lee Spriggs, 64, of Port St. Lucie, FL went home to be with his Heavenly Father on November 25, 2025, after a courageous three-year battle with bladder cancer fought with unwavering grace and faith.
Kevin was born June 30, 1961 in Frankfort, IN, the oldest child of Garry and Junice (Williams) Spriggs. Kevin graduated high school from Hobe Sound Bible Academy in 1979 and from Hobe Sound Bible College in 1985. These years were filled with building close relationships that remain today. He was admired as a leader in the student body as a member of singing groups, choirs and student leadership groups. His years at college were formative in molding him to be the spiritual leader he was to be the rest of his life.
After graduation he became an ordained minister who faithfully served the body of Christ in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Mississippi for more than 25 years. Above every title—Husband, Daddy, Papaw—he longed to be remembered simply as a lover and servant of Christ, giving God the glory through every trial and triumph. Kevin believed in and lived a cautious and careful adherence to God’s Word. He was a devoted family man whose love poured out in quiet acts of service, during bedtime prayers, and on the proud grin he wore every time one of his grandchildren called him “Papaw.” He was an example of Christ and a rock to his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Joy (Carpenter) Spriggs; his daughter, Jolie (Spriggs) Churchill and her husband John-Paul, and their children Eva and Vance; his son, Brett Kevin Spriggs and his wife Tara, and their daughter Juniper; his parents, Garry and Junice (Williams) Spriggs; his sister, Debbie (Spriggs) Hardy and her husband Ben; and his brother Tim Spriggs. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Bill and his wife Mary (Allison) Carpenter; brother-in-law Barry and his wife Karen (Garver) Carpenter; sister-in-law Jonna (Suddeth) Carpenter, and many cherished nieces and nephews who will deeply miss him.
Kevin was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his brother Phil Spriggs.
Kevin is now whole again, rejoicing in the presence of the Savior he spent his life pointing others toward.
