My condolences to the Mahoney family.
I worked with Kevin at Brother and have known him since 2002. Such a good person and was a friend & mentor to me who was always dedicated and hardworking.
When news flowed in today, at first I couldn't believe it. But when I caught it all in, it hurt and was so sad. Wish I could've communicated more often. The last time we txtd each other was on the night the Dodgers won the world series in 2020 which was much too long ago.
Kevin always gave great advice, always knew how to make people laugh along with helping us to help our customers with his technical expertise. He always went out of his way to help people around the office even when he was tied up. He still made way to help you out anyway.
Cant forgot the time we went to a Brother sales training event in NJ then to NYC where we took trains & subways, walked around Times Square, visited Guggenheim museum, the statue of Liberty and even capped it with a Broadway show/Monty Python all in one day.
He introduced me to Guinness and I laughed at how much he disliked my go-to, an IPA. When we had work events, he'd always offer to drive us in his Odyssey (and sometimes take the scenic route heading back north to "get around traffic"). I remember a time we had a Brother/Score videoshoot in the Santa Barbara area where we stayed at his friend's place and helped a business owner get his machines set up the next day and there was a production crew to take captures with us in the background.
I'll ever forget the way he used to funningly say "whhaaaat" when you ask a question and then had a smile afterwards.
A lot of the tech stuff I know now stemmed from Kevin especially in the mac & networking world. I still have some of his keepsakes like his old office Brother label printer which I still use to the day on the network at home with his name still in its web-interface. That will never get reset.
I'll never forget you Kevin. Thank you for everything! You'll be greatly missed! When we one day meet again, let's have a pint!
Rest in Peace, Kevin 🙏
