Kevin Michael Laughon, age 49, suddenly passed away in Lake Ridge, Virginia on Tuesday, February 19th ,2019. Kevin was born in Nuernberg, Germany while his father was stationed there in the Army. When his father finished his duty assignment, the family moved to the Virginia/Washington, D. C. area. Kevin attended schools in Lake Ridge, Virginia, before going to Syracuse University in New York where he received a B.F.A. in advertising design. He realized he enjoyed performing in the theatre, TV, and films. He had been dancing since he was five years old. He taught tap and jazz in competition teams and choreographed numerous shows for high schools and local theatre. He worked as stage management, set design and construction for some of DC's professional theatres. He also acted and performed in many productions and had small roles in a variety of films and TV series. Kevin was a member of The Screen Actors Guild (SAG/AFTRA) and was selected to be one of the members of the nomination committee for the 2019 SAG awards . Kevin was preceded in death by his mother Phyllis and survived by Steven L. Minasi, his Life Partner of 24 years whom he shared a home with in Woodbridge, Virginia, with their beloved dog Alvin, his father Thomas Michael, stepmother Sharon, and grandmother Wanda, all of Wichita Falls, Texas, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. There was a Celebration of Life service on March 11 at MertoStage Theater, Alexandria, Virginia, at 730pm. Kevin will be at peace by his mother Phyllis at Crestview Cemetery, Wichita Falls, Texas.
