Kevin's obituary
With deep sadness and great difficulty we announce the passing of Kevin John Langmann, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 13, 2024. We all miss him more than words can say.
He is survived by his loving mother, Paula Hornsey, step-father Bob Hornsey, brother Phil Langmann, sister-in-law Danielle Langmann, niece Cassie Langmann, nephew Jason Langmann, sister Heather Ray, brother-in-law Chris Ray, and nephew John Ray.
Kevin was born February 18, 1969, and his love of the outdoors came from growing up in upstate New York. Throughout his life, he loved spending time with family and friends, frequently going camping and hiking, enjoying lake and beach time, and yelling at the TV because football referees never make the right call. Kevin was "The Dude"... the rock we all depended on to be there with us on family vacations, to play quarters on a Saturday night, and to lend a helping hand any time we needed him.
From 1987 - 1995, Kevin served our country faithfully in the United States Navy, afterward using the GI Bill to obtain a bachelor's degree from DeVry University. While obtaining his degree, he was a wonderful nanny for his niece Cassie, nephew Jason, and a family friend's daughter Brooke. Kevin genuinely loved spending time with them; his compassion, patience, and love shined through every day the kids were under his care.
With his degree, Kevin spent his career training and helping others learn fire systems, first at Notifier and later Honeywell. At 6' 4", Kevin was a big man but his heart was even bigger. His humor and kindness will be missed by all that knew him.
Two Celebrations of Life are being planned, one in Georgia and one in New York. He will be laid to rest at the Langmann Family plot over the summer in Keene, New York.
