Kevin Barry Curran passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in Bloomington, IN. Born in Chicago, IL, Kevin graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance in 1993 and received his MBA from Xavier University in 1999. He worked as the Director of Auditing & Finance Systems in the Controller’s office for the City of Bloomington since 2018. Prior to that position, he worked for Commscope Corporation for 17 years including 1 year in Brazil and 4 years as the Accounting Director for Asia Pacific in Suzhou, China. He travelled to Nairobi, Kenya in 2016 to support a Microeconomics initiative. He will forever be remembered for his quick wit, keen sense of humor, and big heart. He loved his sons dearly and they were the joy of his life. Kevin will be missed by anyone who knew him. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed cheering on his IU Hoosiers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and was a dedicated Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, and Cubs fan. Surviving are his sons, Sean and Ryan Curran as well as their mother Kathy Curran of Mokena, IL; mother, Carol Curran of Wake Forest, NC; sisters, Jennifer (Jose) Rubalcada of Fort Wayne, and Melissa (David Richards) Kandel of Wake Forest, NC; and 11 nieces and nephews. His father, Eugene Curran, preceded Kevin in death. Celebration of life service will be planned in Mokena, IL. Anyone who wishes to honor Kevin may contribute to his children's college fund.
