Kevin's obituary
Kevin Christopher Belcher, passed away unexpectedly on March 2nd, 2024. He was only 54 years old. Kevin was born on August 5th, 1969 in Fort Worth, TX to Robert Belcher and Jane Rushmore. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School and spent the majority of his childhood between Fort Worth and San Antonio. He eventually moved to the Colorado Mountains, where he spent most of his adult life. Kevin is survived by his Mother (Jane Rushmore), Step Father (Dick Rushmore), his Brother (Cory Belcher), Sister In Law (Kelly), Step Sisters (Debra Melton and Kathy Rushmore), along with Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces and numerous others.
Kevin was known for his swagger attire; a collared shirt, name brand sweater, hipster jeans, and cowboy boots, he was always “dressed to impress.” He enjoyed adventure and could often be found snowshoeing or hiking with his furry friends, ohh how he loved his dogs. He was very competitive and when Spring came around he enjoyed playing tennis or golf. Kevin’s smile would light up a room always showing his“pearly whites.” He was a dreamer with a huge imagination, a seeker with a sense of adventure, he was a doer that made stuff happen, always living in the tension of wanting to do the next right thing. He had so much love and compassion for others, he often forgot to love himself.
Kevin, unfortunately lost his battle with depression and addiction, despite numerous attempts at recovery. Kevin had recently been living at a Sober Living House in Steamboat Springs. The mission of the Travis House is to free men from the bonds of addiction, by developing a biblical foundation and learning recovery tools to live a healthy and productive life. In memory of Kevin, the family has requested that any donations be made to The Travis House. https://www.travishouse.org/d….
