Keith's obituary
Dr. Keith Rodney Larson was born on August 26, 1939, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, the first of 3 boys, to Carl Rodney & Viola Margaret Larson. He peacefully graduated to his eternal home on September 7th, 2025 in Beaverton, Oregon.
Raised in a God loving home in Klamath Falls, his life was marked by his faith in God, which he expressed in various ways throughout his life; service in prison ministry, church choir director, visiting and singing to the sick and hospitalized, and for weddings and funerals, caring for the elderly, serving as an ordained Deacon, Gideon and bible study leader. He and Helen loved attending the many events that their daughters and later grandchildren participated in. From athletic events to musicals and piano recitals, they came to cheer them all on. His kindness and gentleness impacted all who knew him. His love for family and friends, and his passion for the great outdoors were paramount in his life.
Keith attended Oregon State University and joined the wrestling team there as well as the Baptist Student Union where he met his wife Helen. After marrying in 1963, he went on to attend Oregon Health Science University where he received his degree of Doctorate of Medical Dentistry. Keith devoted over 50 years practicing dentistry in Beaverton. To better serve those without dental services in their area, he refurbished an 18 wheeler and drove it with his wife and daughter, Lynette, to and from Siletz and Banks on the weekends, treating patients. After retirement, he launched a practice treating sleep apnea patients in Beaverton.
He will be missed by his many friends, neighbors, patients, and everyone he helped and supported throughout his years for his kind and compassionate nature, positive outlook on life, and beautiful singing voice which he often shared around a campfire or from a stage, and regularly with his daughter Melissa, in duets.
Keith is survived by his brothers LeRoy Larson (Linda) and Duane Larson (Cheryl), daughter Lynette Kaylene Wood (Marc), and daughter Melissa Paulette Freeman (Craig). Proud Grandpa to Chelsea Wood, Erika Wood, Luke Freeman & Annika Freeman. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Helen, and his parents Carl Larson & Viola Larson.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 25th, 1:30pm at Sunset Church 14986 NW Cornell Rd. Portland, OR 97229
