Mr. wells you were won of my favorite teachers, I was your aid and I had video production with you as well, I always loved being your aid, you made me laugh so hard…  that was the highlight of my day, you will be greatly missed… you and your family is in my prayers ❤️ Graduated 2003
One of my favorite memories of Kerry is how he wrote, by hand, a personal message in the Christmas cards Jess and he sent each year. I also loved talking to him about poetry and listening Great music with him and Jessica.
What an incredible man. I can’t say enough good things about Mr. Wells. I had as a teacher and I was also his aide. I never looked forward to going to school until I had met Mr. Wells. I graduated in 1997 and went back almost every school year to pop in and say hello. The first day of class he didn’t say a word. Just stood up in front of the class wrote down some jibber jabber on the overhead projector. Then hit play on the CD player. Bob Marley was on the play list and he got my full attention immediately. Is this guy messing with me right now? That was my first thought. But from that day on I couldn’t wait to get to that classroom and get the opportunity to be with Mr. Wells. He changed so many lives in that classroom and brought so many people together. I can remember seeing him about 4 years ago or so in the post office. I said hey Mr. Wells. He didn’t look at me. I thought oh man that’s not him. Then he looked at me and said “it’s Kerry to you”! Hahaha. He said I’m not a teacher anymore you can call me Kerry. I still couldn’t do it. May you rest in absolute peace. May the tunes of Bob Marley play for you as loud as you loved to listen. Thank you for everything you did for me and all my friends.

O captain, my captain. Mr. Wells was the best teacher and mentor I've ever had- I have countless fond memories in his class. He really was a huge inspiration to his students, and never failed to make us laugh with his dry wit.

Aside from prose and grammar, he taught me some very important life lessons: to never be ashamed expressing my uniqueness; and to always be true to myself. I will forever cherish the time I got to spend with him.

Wherever he is, I hope he knows what a positive, profound impact on so many lives. My thoughts are with his family, sending you all peace and love 🕊️💓

Rest in power, Mr. Wells ☮️🤟

Like many others Mr. Wells was one of my favorite teachers. I looked forward to the end of my school day because I knew it was going to be filled with laughs and positive vibes thanks to the atmosphere he created inside his classroom. He always had the best witty comments that always made me smile. He will be greatly missed by many.

His family are in my thoughts during this difficult time.

Mr wells was my language arts teacher at lhs, he was the best teacher I ever had! I’ve thought about him often in the last 20 years. I will always remember his story’s and slides for his time in the army. He will be greatly missed! R.I.P Mr. Wells 😭
Mr. Wells was my favorite teacher: He made words exciting and that glint in his eye is something I’ll never forget. I will always remember Mark Antony’s speech and Robert Frost’s walk through a Yellow Wood thanks to him. He will be so missed. ❤️
He was my language arts teacher in HS and my favorite. Even after over 10 years, when he ran into me at work he remembered me and my love for horses. I loved seeing him come into Wilco and have a quick chat. I will miss that 🥺
I am so sorry to hear of Kerry's passing. When I was a new teacher at L.H.S., he was so encouraging to me. He encouraged me to teach AP Lit. after him, and for that I will be forever grateful. I am thinking of his family during this time. ❤

Mr. Wells was my language arts teacher my senior year. It was also his last year teaching so we joked we were all going to graduate together. We threw a party at the end of the year, with lots of literary puns from the stories we had studied. We had “Team Reddleman Velvet Cake” with “Miss Havisham Candles” and “Ophelia Floats.”

Mr. Wells gave me a tiny pencil on a chain to remember to always keep my love of writing. He was a teacher who truly inspired the best in his students.

The news of Mr. Wells passing is heartbreaking. He was my favorite teacher and brought out my love for reading and writing. He taught me that there is more than one life and one world we can live in thanks to books and imagination. A lesson that has stayed with me and comforted me in the worst of times. My heart goes out to his family, friends and students.

"The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you, shall never pass away."

Me and my husband are so sad to hear of Mr Wells passing. Sending love to all those grieving him. He was one of my husbands favorite teachers. ❤️

I had Mr. Wells for one term, and didn’t get to know him well, but he was one of the most influential teachers for me all the same. Seeing how much other students truly loved and felt safe with him brought me joy and hope. There were so many stories from other students about how awesome, kind, and accepting he was. Once I got to have class with him myself after he came back from a break I was inspired and comforted by how human, honest, and vulnerable he was with us. I know he affected me greatly, and definitely impacted many other students even more.

Oh, and a thanks and an apology are definitely owed for being a good sport about that awkward happy salmon, and for everything else.

I am so saddened to get this news. I had a special connection with Kerry and one of my most treasured possessions is a note that he wrote for me at my high school graduation that he I still have in a scrap book. He passed on my birthday. Jessica, you and your family are in my thoughts. I’m so thankful I had a chance to get to know you and your family.
