I have so many fond memories of my dear friend Kerry. We always found a way to find humor in every activity we endeavored. I will miss her terribly. Barbara

4 Tall Pines gals in SC decided to get together and paint wine glasses. Kerry &Mary attended. Kerry decided she would paint something fun like a clown holding bright colored balloons. The rest of the “class” were more serious. We laughed a lot and had a little extra vino to get us in the mood.  At the end, Kerry was a little disappointed in her work & gave the glass to me.  So glad she did - I treasure it!  When I drink from it, a huge smile appears on my face and a small tear in my eye.  We miss you!

From my first breath on June 30, 1955 until her last on September 16, 2023, she was there for moments small and large, teaching, guiding, and advising when asked (and sometimes when not), encouraging the pursuit of my every dream, nudging me to return to college (and to attend my commencement when I finally finished my bachelor’s degree 19 years after I started), supporting me in taking the many risks I chose to take (attending graduate school while working full-time, buying and selling real estate, moving to other states, changing jobs), laughing over goofy stuff (like her obsession with artificial plants), helping me to process and understand life’s trials during many long distance phone calls, recording our time together first in staged photographs and later laughing in the World’s Worst Selfies, but most of all loving me no matter what.  My lifelong wish was fulfilled when she moved to Pawleys Island and we were finally able to be in the same place. Now, I wonder if that was more a premonition than a wish. Whichever it was, that gift allowed me to support her on, and bear witness to, her final remarkable journey in this life. There are no words grand enough to express my gratitude for having my beloved sister Kerry in my life for 68 years, nor are their words to describe the hole her absence has left.
