I’m so sorry Sandy- his ability to hold all students to a high standard was inspirational. He demonstrated his belief in them through that,  authentic conversation and unconditional positive regard.

I am so so thankful to have known and worked with Kerry the year I taught at Berkshire. He radiated calm and unwavering dedication to his students. I was a first year teacher in the middle school when I worked with Kerry and he made me feel successful and capable which was a remarkable quality given how I often felt about my own abilities as an educator.

Whenever he entered into my classroom-I took a deep breath and everything felt, no other word for it, better. He made everything better.

I loved hearing about his incredible life during lunch and recess duties. I am so thankful for his friendship and and I am grateful for the incredible value he brought to my classroom as a fellow educator. I think of him often and he will be sorely missed.

Sandy and Rhiannon, I am so sorry for your loss.

Rest in power, Mr. F.

Sandy, I am very sorry for your loss.  Please know you are in my thoughts at this difficult time.

Kerry was one of my most favorite people.  He was the kindest, most intelligent, most talented, most accepting and most patient person I ever met. One of his most admirable qualities was his ability to find joy in the simplest of things.

As a co-worker there was none better.  He not only supported all of my ideas (no matter how crazy) but made them more effective with his suggestions and implementation.  He never gave up on a student and was quick to recognize their effort and progress, as well as honor their interests and strengths.

When I retired, he was one of the people I missed most.  The world is a little less extraordinary without Kerry.

Whenever Mr. F entered the room when I was subbing, I knew that I would enjoy the class and feel safe and supported. I loved conversing with him and the kids and really appreciate the calm and intellect/interest he brought to the middle school. I will miss him calling BINGO at the end-of-year field day and all the amazing things he brought to Berkshire. He will be very missed <3
I think of both of you every day. I am so sorry for your loss. Kerry was a very special man that truly showed his care to everyone. Please remember how much support you have around you to help you through this.
Both my boys loved seeing Mr. F... his intel on the local deer around their camp was just one way he always knew the best way to connect with kids, he was such a daily, positive person for them.  He will be so missed !

Miss Sandy and Rhiannon,

I was so saddened to hear of Mr F’s passing. He was truly one of the smartest gentlemen I have ever met. He was kind, compassionate, inquisitive, patient and made a huge impact on the children at Berkshire. I will always remember our talks at recess and look back fondly on my memories with him.

Katie & John

My heart goes out to Mrs. Sandy and their family, he truly was a good man. I can remember his class on sign language and him spending his time driving a few of us kids to a scholars bowl. He made such a tremendous impact on all of those around him.
So sorry to hear of Mr. Fleckenstein’s passing. My girls loved him as a teacher, he touched many students lives.  The Archambault Family - Jamie, Marsha, Austin and Carly
Mr. F was always there to help in all of my classes during my middle school years at Berkshire. I will always remember how smart, helpful and kind he was. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
Kerry was a true gentleman, a lover of art and music, but most importantly he was a proud family man! It was very apparent that this well traveled, extraordinarily intelligent and compassionate man, was most proud of being a devoted husband to his loving wife, Sandy and a father to his beloved daughter, Rhiannon. Rest in peace, Mr. F❤️
Over the years, I have had the pleasure of having Kerry work in my middle school math classroom.  He truly loved math and that was contagious to any of the students he worked with!  He had the ability to make even the toughest math students work hard and grow their skills. Students loved working with him because he was always patient and kind and took the time to ensure they understood what they were doing.  Kerry’s love for his family and life came through in every conversation we had! I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and he will be sorely missed! His absence has left a hole in our school that will not be easily filled, but he has left a lasting impact on all he worked with!  I am sending love and keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers!❤️🙏❤️

Kerry was so knowledgeable about a vast arrive of topics and always had interesting things to add in history class.  He was invaluable to me in providing interesting and challenging projects for our student in industrial arts, from electric race cars to designing and building a dream house.  He was so patient with students and me when things didn’t work, always willing to share his expertise,   He loved Con. Science from baking bread to helping students with personal finance in a career they would choose.

Kerry was also a friend, we so enjoyed sharing tales from growing up, city versus country.  We both loved talking about visiting our Grandparents and their often old stories and lifestyle.  He especially loved sharing stories of his own family after vacations and a full house.  Rhiannon you were the light of his life.  He was so happy with you Sandy and your life in the country.  I feel so sad about the huge hole he has left in your lives.

We miss Kerry. He was a good person, and we need more people like that in the world. He considered everyone equal, worthy, and interesting. His empathy and kindness towards others were always apparent, as was his enthusiasm for learning more about whoever he was talking to. We're sad he's not with us, but we know the effect he had on us will be with us forever.   We love you.

Thinking of you in these times, Sandy. Kerry was such a warm and kind presence at Berkshire and will be greatly missed. Sending lots of love 💛
I always admired Kerry's calm, quiet, caring manner in all situations. He was an asset for Berkshire Elementary. All who knew Kerry benefitted from his vast experiences and knowledge. My condolences to you, Sandy and your daughter.
Kerry showed me incredible kindness and warmth every time I saw him, despite my instigating less-than-wise and impromptu road trips with Rhiannon, getting stuck in the snow twice in 10 hours, and generally being a pain. He and Sandy would talk with me for hours in the morning over the most delicious cheesecake-shaped shortbread and coffee. He was wildly intelligent and challenged me on many things while never making me feel small or stupid. He had an easy curiosity about him that made him very easy to talk to. I didn’t even know the guy that well but I have a lot of fond memories of him. He was very special and I am so sorry that this happened, Sandy and Rhiannon. May you do whatever you need to find peace. My sincerest condolences.
Dear Sandy and Rhiannon, We send our deepest condolences. Kerry will always have a special place in our hearts. He will always be remembered for his kindness and enlightening conversation. With Love from Ed and Joan
I am so sorry for your loss. Kerry will truly be missed by all. My son loved working with him with his advanced math courses, and I always enjoyed our chats while working at BES.
Sandy and Rhiannon I am so sorry for your loss. I loved working with Mr F I so enjoyed our talks. The world has loss a great man!
Kerry and I worked together in my classroom. I always appreciated his depth of knowledge, his compassion and patience when working with some of our toughest kids, but most of all his sense of humor. When I could elicit a chuckle from Kerry, I always felt like i had really achieved something. He was so proud of his talented daughter and he enjoyed listening about my daughters' activities too. The world has lost a great man and my heart goes out to Sandy & Rhiannon.
