Kenyon's obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Kenyon Toy, who transitioned peacefully in his sleep on February 17, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on May 30, 1979, in Los Angeles, CA, Kenyon was the cherished son of his late parents, Sharon Yvette Dorris and Louis Toy.

Kenyon was a devoted nephew, cousin, and friend whose warmth and joy lit up every room he entered. He was the life of every party, effortlessly drawing people in with his charm, humor, and an infectious laugh that will echo in our hearts forever. He embraced life fully, finding happiness in cooking, traveling, surfing, and, most importantly, in the love and company of his family and friends.

A gifted performer, Kenyon’s passion for dance and Color Guard took him across the world, where he not only showcased his immense talent but also built lifelong friendships. Before becoming a dedicated coach and leading several high schools to championship victories, he first took the stage as a performer, mesmerizing audiences with his artistry and grace. His impact on the Color Guard community will never be forgotten.

Kenyon was a man of boundless kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. His heart was as big as his personality, and his love for those around him knew no limits. He leaves behind his loving husband, Or Toy, his dear aunt, Cheryl Cotton, his cherished cousin, Renisha Moore, and his beloved cat, Michael, along with a host of extended family members and friends who will forever hold his memory close.

Though we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the love he shared. His spirit will live on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every heart he touched.

A celebration of Kenyon’s life will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, may we honor his legacy by embracing life with the same passion, kindness, and joy that he so effortlessly embodied.

Rest in love, Kenyon. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
