Kenneth's obituary
Kenneth R. Peffer, born on June 27, 1936, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at the age of 89. He lived a full and vibrant life centered on the things that brought him the greatest joy: his beloved family, capturing moments through photography, exploring the world through travel, and cooking and eating delicious meals with those he loved.
Ken was a devoted husband to his wife of 69 years, Elizabeth Peffer, who was his constant companion. He was a proud father to his three children: Kenneth Peffer (wife Cathleen Peffer), Timothy Peffer (wife Sharon Peffer), and Lisa Vajas (husband Richard Vajas). His legacy continues through his seven cherished grandchildren: Jessica Congiundi, Cathy Lee Peffer, Rich Vajas, Christy Colosimo, Tim Peffer, Steve Peffer, and Aaron Peffer, and his 13 great-grandchildren, with one more eagerly awaited.
A passionate photographer, Ken had an eye for beauty in everyday moments, whether capturing a special family moment or a scenic landscape during his travels. He delighted in discovering new places, always returning with stories and photographs to share. In the kitchen, he was a true enthusiast, cooking hearty meals, experimenting with recipes, and gathering everyone around the table to enjoy good food and even better company. These passions reflected his warm, generous spirit and his deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Ken will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of adventure, and the unwavering love he showed his family. He leaves behind a legacy of memories filled with laughter, shared adventures, and his famous mashed potatoes. The family finds comfort knowing that his influence lives on in each of them.
A celebration of Ken's life will be held at a later date with close family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring his memory by spending time with loved ones or taking a photograph of something beautiful.
Rest in peace, Ken—you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
