Obituary for Kenneth "Barry" Jackson Mills
"With a heart full of love and a life full of laughter, Barry leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and endless memories. He is now reunited with his beloved Margie, watching over those he loved so deeply."
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Kenneth "Barry" Jackson Mills, who left us peacefully on April 23, 2025, at the age of 75.
Barry was born on February 10, 1950, in Sherbrooke, Quebec. After marrying the love of his life, Margaret Mary Dunlop, in 1976, they moved to Ontario to begin the next chapter of their lives together. There, they raised two wonderful sons, Sean and Peter, and built a home filled with love and laughter.
Barry built a successful career as a self-employed custom home builder. His honesty, attention to detail, and craftsmanship left a lasting mark on the many homes, and hearts he touched.
Barry always had a positive attitude and a bright outlook on life. He loved to travel, spend time outdoors, and never missed his weekly twenty-kilometer hikes with friends. A passionate golfer and a natural socializer, Barry loved being around people sharing stories, laughter, and friendship wherever he went. He was happiest exploring new places, playing a round of golf, or simply spending time with those he cared about most.
Family was everything to Barry. He was a devoted father and a proud grandfather. His granddaughter, Saylor, brought him endless joy and became his greatest inspiration. He was also a proud "grand-dog dad" to Teddy and Nico, who brought him countless smiles and companionship.
Barry leaves behind his sons, Sean and Peter (Sherry), his treasured granddaughter, Saylor, his beloved grand-dogs, Teddy and Nico, extended family, and many dear friends who will miss his warmth, humor, and kindness.
He is reunited with his beloved wife, Margaret, who passed away in 2022.
A funeral Mass to celebrate Barry’s life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 65 Amelia St, Barrie, ON L4M 1M7. All who knew and loved Barry are welcome to attend and honor a life well lived.
