Kenneth's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth "Pop" Newton on December 28, 2025. Known affectionately as "Pop", he was born on September 26, 1946, and lived a full and vibrant life.
Kenneth leaves behind a large and loving family, including his wife, Paulette Newton, his son Christopher Newton and daughter-in-law Laura, his daughter Nancy Pelletier and son-in-law Carl, his step-daughter Jodi Dixon, his step-son Todd Hilding and daughter-in-law Andrea, and his grandchildren: Erica, Ryan, Heather, Jim, Kelly, Aaron, Steven, Alexandria, Grace, Jeremy, Christopher, Sophia, Jacob, his great-grand children: Oliva, Zander, Cameron, Madelyn, James Patrick and Jabari. He is predeceased by his step-son, Scott Hilding and his son-in-law Butch Dixon.
Those who knew Kenneth knew him to be a "Happy Go Lucky" kind of man. A connoisseur of fish and a fan of Sherlock Holmes, Kenneth had a unique taste for the timeless classics. He loved everything that was filmed before 1970 and supported his favorite teams, The Boston Red Sox, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Jacksonville Jaguars. The "You Tubes" never failed to entertain him, and he loved every local spot on the water.
Fishing was Kenneth's favorite pastime, a hobby that merged seamlessly with his love for the Outer Banks. Whether walking or weight lifting, he enjoyed staying active. His teachings on fishing, hiking, and car maintenance and car wash recovery will remain invaluable to those who had the pleasure of learning from him.
Kenneth was proud of his many accomplishments, especially catching an 8 lb Bass. But perhaps his most significant achievement was the love he cultivated within his family. His mantra, "Always Love Your Family", wasn't just a saying, but a principle that he lived by every day. His legacy will continue to live on through his beloved family and the many lives that he touched.
Kenneth will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him. His jovial spirit, love for life, and enduring wisdom will remain in our hearts forever.
