Kenneth's obituary

Kenneth A. Dunn passed away on February 7th, 2021 surrounded by loved ones from complications of advanced heart failure.
Born on September 30th in Bakersfield California, he was the son of the late Commander Robert S. Dunn and his late mother Helen Dunn-Heflin as well as his stepfather Col. Bruce Heflin. He was also proceeded in death by his brother Alan Dunn.
He was the dedicated operations manager of Love and Respect Recovery House where he fulfilled his purpose of healing and transforming those who sought his counsel. His devotion to improving the community of East Durham was rewarded with a key to the city and provided opportunities to those in need.
Ken was a man of many talents and held remarkable skills in computer hardware engineering, cooking, mechanics, playing guitar, carpentry, photography, painting, counseling and leadership.
He is survived by his daughters Jessica and Brittany Dunn of NC, mother of his children Shanta Dunn, brother Bob Dunn and his wife Sue Dunn of NV, his sister B.J. Dunn, nephew Brian Dunn and grand niece Sarah of NV and step-brother Bruce Heflin II and his wife Sue of VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to Love and Respect Recovery House, a cause which he devoted his life to.
