Kenneth's obituary
Kenneth “Ken” Darrell Cloud, Jr., passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at the age of 57.
Above all else, Ken was a loving and devoted father, who enjoyed traveling with his children to enrich their childhoods by visiting as many different places and having as many different experiences as possible. It could be a spur-of-the-moment trip or a meticulously well-planned vacation. Most of all, he wanted to make sure they saw every corner of his beloved home state, Arizona.
Ken was the first-born son of Darla and Kenneth Cloud in Yuma, Arizona, in July of 1966. Growing up in Yuma and Gilbert, he graduated from Gilbert High School in 1984 and from Arizona State University in 1991. After college, Ken met the mother of his children, Monica Yocum, and they married in 1995. They had two incredible children, of whom Ken was always enormously proud. More precious to him than anything in life were his children, Kyle and Summer, and his “little buddy,” Molly the cat.
In his professional life, Ken was a Certified Public Accountant, achieving the office of Vice President of Finance for the local company Sleep America at the pinnacle of his career. Outside of family and work, he had a passion for politics and patriotism, continuously seeking truth and defending liberty and later serving as a Precinct Committeeman in Maricopa County.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Kenny. He is survived by his mother, Darla Shepardson; his beloved children; his brothers, Kory Cloud, Sam Shepardson, and Nathan Shepardson; his sisters, Kim Perry, Kandra McIntire, and Roberta “Birdi” Owens; and his cat, the sweetest in the world!
We will all greatly miss Ken, a joy to his friends, a blessing to his family, and a rock to his kids.
