Kenneth's obituary

Ken was a loving husband, father and Papa. He was a retired Denver Police Officer and a lover of Ford Tractors. Ken had an Inquisitive mind was an ever-present joker and a good friend to many.

After a short stint at farming in Newell IA he moved to Castle Rock CO and became a Denver Police Officer retiring after 25 years of service. He and Penny then moved to Alcester SD near his mother's family farm. After his stroke they then moved to Florida in 2013 to be closer to his "girls". Ken suffered complications from a stroke he had in 2011 and after many years of fighting went to be with his loved ones in heaven on April 3, 2021 at 78 years old.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents , Fred and Ida Bircher who were long-time farming residents of Newell, Iowa and had passed away before he moved to Colorado. His brother Fred and sister Jeanne.

He is survived by his sisters Annabelle Pedersen & family of Tucson AZ, Clarine Snyder & family of Forest City IA. His wife Penny of Tavares FL, his daughters Sara Bircher of Apopka FL, Tina Bircher , granddaughter Miranda (who was the light of his life) of WinterGarden FL. Two stepchildren Gary (Jessica) Johnson and their children Haylea, Hayden and Lake of Republic MO. Bobbie (Micheal) Miller and their children Tyler and Andrew of Belle Chasse LA.

Ken was a fun loving, good-natured family man who will be missed greatly. We know he is having a wonderful time singing gospel songs, playing jokes and wearing his bright colored florescent shirts. You will remain forever in our hearts. Love you Papa.
