My heart hugs each of yours Penny, Sara, Tina and Miranda β€οΈ Uncle Kenny was one of my favorite people in life! He was one of a kind! My love and hugs to each of you....ππ·
Well, Ken was the reason I became a police officer. Ken was tough as nails, but the most fun loving guy to be around. My family ALWAYS did a 4th of July party. It was always exciting when the Bircher family showed up. Ken always add that extra spark (in addition to mega fireworks he brought) to the party. Ken is/was one in a million. I will always remember his laugh and words of wisdom he gave me about surviving as a cop. Thanks Ken
I donβt have a childhood memory that doesnβt have Ken in it! That was my second home. He was a wonderful man and father, papa too! May the family have peace over their loss of Ken.
While I was in my senior year of college, I was in the cadet program working at the Denver Police Department while dad was still working there. Whenever a cop recognized the name and realized that I was related to Kenny Bircher, they usually said he taught them something very important. The most common theme was to "Slow down. If you don't get 'em today, you'll be wiser and ready to get 'em next time." It wasn't specific to the work. It was about staying in the present, think it through weigh the options and take the time to do it right, enjoy the moments.
I loved Uncle Kenny! He was fun, funny, and strong. You didnβt have to guess his opinion. It flowed freely. He was easy to talk with, and listen to, often telling interesting stories. Kenny was a bright spot in my world whenever he visited or we gathered as family. He was a big personality. And he made you feel big too!
I am so sorry to hear about Ken! He was a very good friend of my brothers (Ted and Paul Haburn) and went to the Baptist Church in Newell where his mom played the organ. I took piano lessons from her, and 1 year of organ before she died. Now I am playing for my church, on the organ, and I think of her every time. Prayers for your family. Lori (Haburn) Arends
Our sympathies to Kenβs family on their loss. A man of many talents and usually few words. Many memories of Ken ranging from a pesky soon to be brother-in-law to a man with an easy laugh and the skill to fix anything. Don
Since the time we were kids we had a great time being with cousins, getting together often at Grandma Lykkenβs. As the years went by there were family reunions. Then in later years, and during the time Ken and Penny lived by Nora, we had monthly cousins luncheons and it was a great way to continue to keep in touch. How grateful I am for these times that we have had to get together. Ken is a great cousin and enjoyed his fun humor. Just love him so much. So Penny, Sara and Tina this comes with special sympathy, and know he will be greatly missed by you and all your family.
