Kendra's obituary

Kendra Kay Arnett "Aunt KK"

March 26, 1959 – November 22, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kendra Kay Arnett, lovingly known as Aunt KK, at the age of 66. Kendra passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Trinity Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, surrounded by her loved ones.

Kendra was born on March 26, 1959, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to James W. Arnett and the late Margie Trusty Manalp. Her life was often filled with hardships, yet she rose above every challenge with strength and resilience. Through every struggle, she became a source of stability and compassion for the people she loved. She lived humbly, but her generosity was boundless. She would give her last dime if it meant helping someone who needed it.

Kendra will always be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her unshakeable loyalty, and her wonderful sense of humor. She was funny, warm, and endlessly comforting to anyone who needed her. She had a gift for walking into a room and making it brighter, and she was the person her loved ones could rely on in their darkest times. She helped them pick up the pieces whenever life became too heavy. She was the rock of the family, and her impact on the world was far greater than she ever realized.

Kendra is survived by two brothers, Shahan Manalp and his wife Deborah of Brownstown, Michigan, and Jimmy Arnett and his wife Kristin of Salyersville, Kentucky. She is also survived by five sisters, Melynda Coffey and her husband Robbie of Niles, Michigan, Gwen Ray and her husband David of Leavenworth, Kansas, Linda Burchett and her husband Tony of Oil Springs, Kentucky, and Tracey Holderby and her husband Tony of Salyersville, Kentucky. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, including Jason and Alison Manalp, Rachael Carnahan, and Andrew and Jacob Arnett. Kendra and her nephew Jason shared a unique and loving bond, and she cared for him like a son, often calling him her “nephewson.”

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Homer and Louanna Trusty, and her paternal grandparents, Woodrow and Lula Back Arnett. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jennifer Watkins Carnahan, and her two brothers, James M. Arnett and Tabben Arnett.

Kendra’s life was not easy, but she transformed every hardship into compassion for others. She leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and strength. The world is undoubtedly better because she was here, and she will be missed more than words can express.

Rest in peace, Aunt KK. Your love, laughter, and kindness will stay with us forever.
