Kendall's obituary
If you asked a hundred people who Ken Studebaker was, they’d all give you a different story: a protector, a sincere warrior of God, a provider, a silly great-grandfather, a classic- like the car, a kind grandpa, a provider, a wonderful friend, a caring father, a man with a legacy, a loving husband, a real gentleman, a patient teacher, a brave firefighter, a true hero.
Ken is most famous for: his belly laughs, the best chili, being steadfast, tooling around in his scooter with the dogs in the basket, pride in his heritage, catching the most fish, his determination, his incredible faith, being humble, his welcoming smile, his love for his dogs, being a nature lover, being a genuine person, his awesome hugs!
Ken had several careers, but his favorite was being a firefighter. Ken joined the Los Angeles County Fire Dept. at the age of 21. He loved being part of the team with his LAFD brothers. He worked hard and became an apparatus specialist-engineer. Unfortunately, Ken had to leave the fire dept early in his career due to a bad back injury. He began a catered plant business and taught scuba diving lessons. He loved both of these interests. Finally, Ken founded Studebaker Safety Systems and used his teaching talents to help companies comply with safety regulations. It is not a coincidence that all of these careers helped others. Ken believed in helping one another and leaving this world a better place than he found it.
Ken is survived by his wife JoAnn Studebaker; his brother Tom Studebaker; his three daughters Holly Davison, Heather King and Heidi Bohne; his two step-sons Dan Whitener and Rob Whitener; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
