Keith's obituary

Keith Robert Sexton has departed from this world, but not without leaving an immovable mark on life and everyone who knew him. Keith is survived by his three children (Danielle, Austen, and Hunter), as well as his former wife of 30 years and mother of his children (Kathy Sexton). He is also survived by his younger brother, Craig Sexton. He was the most beloved father, providing his children unrelenting care and love throughout our lives. He gave each of us so much in life, showing us humor and laughs through his endless jokes. He showed us strong work ethic through his dedication and motivation of building his landscaping business from nothing and becoming such a success. He showed us compassion with the strong bonds he had with his family and beloved cats. Keith valued strong relationships above all. Most of us who knew him have known him for decades, because that’s the kind of man he was. He valued quality over quantity, though there is certainly no shortage of people who loved him. He was one of the easiest people to get along with and just simply such a likeable guy.

I’m sure we can all hear Keith’s distinctly boisterous voice now, cracking some inside joke no one else would understand, followed up by his thunderous laugh that was irresistibly contagious. If anyone could make you smile, it was Him. Beyond his infectious humor, Keith was just such a genuinely kind person. If you were telling him something, you know you would be heard; he was so naturally good at showing people he cared. He brought light and joy to our lives, and could always brighten your day no matter what was going on. You could just see his glowing smile and know everything would be okay.

From simple things like asking if we wanted to go to the store with him when we were younger, to his last days using all the strength he could gather to try to talk to us and tell us he loved us. As we became adults, he still reached out just because he was thinking about us, and even if we weren’t able to answer our phones when he called, he would leave a message letting us know and that he loved us, and we’re all so glad to have those messages to listen to now and hear his proud, loving voice again.

While there is an immeasurable void left in our lives with his departure, the wonderful memories we all have with him are everlasting. The love he showed us will live on and help us all heal. The sound of his hearty chuckle will continue to make us laugh and grin. The images of his smile will continue to brighten our lives on a daily basis. One thing is certain, we are all proud and extremely lucky to have known Keith Sexton.
