I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Mr. Ponsford was a wonderful teacher and friend. He was like a father to me when I was in high school and was having some hard times. He would stay after school to help me with word problems which were always so difficult for me. I got married in 1991 and had my son in 1992 and even named my son after him because he left such an impression on me. After I had my son in 1992, he and Irene had us over for dinner so they could see me and my son, Michael Keith; they both had so much fun seeing and playing with my son, Michael Keith. It was a great memory. I will always cherish my memories of him and hope to see him on the other side one day. Much love to all of his family in this difficult time.
I'm so sorry for the loss of Mr. Ponsford. He will always be Mr Ponsford to me out of respect. I'll always think of him whenever I have the need to use math of any kind. You see, I gave up my lunches for an entire semester to learn a type of math I had real trouble with. Which meant he too gave up his lunches for me. For this I’ll always be grateful. So many teachers have touched our lives through the years but Mr. Ponsford will always be in my memories as the most giving, caring person I encountered in high school. He enjoyed his work and took it seriously. He is appreciated and will be missed.
My sincere condolences are sent to the family and friends of Mr. Keith Ponsford. I graduated from MHS in 1964. Because he was a math teacher and I only had the “required for graduation” math classes, our paths rarely crossed. I always felt that the other teachers respected him and his students were happy to be in his classes.
