Keith's obituary
Keith “Pops” Goldsberry
Keith Charles Goldsberry was born on July 22, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas and passed away on May 27, 2023, in Tyler, Texas, from complications related to recent hip surgery. A memorial service is being held on Saturday, July 22,2023, to celebrate his life, on what would have been his 71st birthday.
Growing up in Wichita with his younger sister, Karen Gatlin, and parents, Charles and Jo Marie Goldsberry, Keith participated in a number of school and community activities, including sports and scouting. He was a member of the Southeast High School Wrestling Team, attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and was very involved in the Order of the Arrow.
After graduating high school, he left Wichita and relocated to Dallas, Texas, to begin a career and a family. He became a father in March of 1981 to Kristian Goldsberry, and again in November 1985 to Kenda (Goldsberry) Nunez. In 2007, Keith married Patsy, the woman who proved to be his “perfect match” – and the one he spent all of his time with, to the end. With this marriage he added Patsy’s children, Matt and Dena Mehojah to his family. Over the years, he was extremely proud to become a grandfather and a great-grandfather through all of his children.
Keith loved shooting, woodworking, NASCAR, vintage cars, skiing, continuing his work with Scouting by participating in the Arbala Haunted Woods, and was a certified diver. He enjoyed travel, and appreciated the opportunities he and Patsy had to visit so many interesting places in the US through their work; and was looking forward to resuming their explorations after recovery from the hip surgery.
Family and friends were always very important to Keith. He will be fondly remembered as a son, brother, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his family, a surrogate father to coworkers, and a treasured friend to those who knew him. To most though, he will simply be remembered as “Pops”.
