Keith's obituary

Mr. Keith “Tootsie Cowart, age 71, of Lyons, died Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida after a sudden illness. He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and worked at Mar-Key Foods in Vidalia for thirty-eight years, retiring as plant manager. He enjoyed spending time with his family, helping others, yard work and watching the Atlanta Falcons. He is preceded in death by his wife Peggy Cowart; parents, Kibbie Cowart and Pauline Graham Cowart; and three brothers, Jerry Cowart, Butch Cowart, and Charles Cowart.

His family includes three children, April Reddish and husband Michael of Reidsville, Manning “Doodle” Poole and fiancé Tonya Medders of Vidalia, and “Skeeter” Cowart of Bulloch County; three grandchildren, Robby Poole and wife Savanna of Vidalia, Brooke Poole, U.S. Navy, and Hannah Reddish of Reidsville; three great-grandchildren, Cadence Poole, Calessi Poole, and Drew Wilkes; six siblings, Bobby Cowart and wife Janice of Pooler, Betty Ferguson of Flowery Branch, Monroe Ferguson and wife Florence of Stockbridge, Larry Cowart of Lyons, “Skippy” Cowart and wife Alice of Wilmington Island and Sheila Cowart James of Vidalia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, February 16th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ohoopee Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Hope House Ministry for Men, 2715 GA Hwy 56 West, Uvalda, GA 30473.
