My daughter's college roommate, my CHIDDLE Middle Two, my forever second daughter... we had so many laughs and late night phone calls. You will forever live on within my heart. Forever missed and loved.

I was an intern who worked with Kayla back in 2014. I was a very green undergrad, new to progressive politics but very moved by Kayla's passion and gregariousness! I remember her being a huge Game of Throwns fans, a proud dog mom and she spoke with such love for her then boyfriend Mike!
May her memory be a blessing and a reminder of how precious life is. May we all move with purpose and passion the way Kayla did.

My heart breaks for you and your family. My daughter too fights an addiction. Such a difficult journey for your family. May you find peace. Denise Moore

Forever frozen in time as a teenager in a series of educational videos she co-starred in. Even then, she was a budding leader, and always looking out for everyone else. She reached out to her castmates before shooting began so that the on-camera relationship would be as genuine as possible.
You are in my family's prayers.

I had the tremendous blessing of working alongside Kayla at the Progressive Change Campaign Committee. She had a way of bringing light and warmth to every call and every gathering—we all felt it. After I moved on from the PCCC, I’d still run into her at conferences and movement events, and every time she greeted me (and so many others) with a big hug and an even bigger smile. Kayla made people feel seen, valued, and loved.
Her presence had a ripple effect far beyond her immediate circles, and I know I’m just one of many whose life was brighter because of her. The world feels a little dimmer without her, but I hope the memories of her kindness, energy, and joy bring comfort to all who miss her.

I am just so very saddened to see this post. I didn't know Kayla personally, but was friends with her on Facebook through an Australian Shepherd group. I saw the deep love she had for her two Aussies, Maverick and Goose, and instantly liked her. She seemed like the sweetest, most kind, loving, fun person who had the biggest heart. Obviously, she was so loved and is leaving such a legacy of kindness in the causes she has fought for. Many prayers for her family, friends, and beloved Aussies in this devastating loss.

Kayla and I became fast friends while working on a political campaign in Colorado years ago. After the campaign, life took us on separate paths, but I will never forget that time we had together. She really touched me with her kind heart and bubbly personality. My prayers are with her family and friends as they bear this immeasurable loss.

Kayla and I were locker buddies all the way through elementary school since our last names were always next to each other. I was shy and not popular and she was always so kind to me. I loved following her and seeing the pups and her amazing st Louis skyline view. My heart was heavy to hear such sad news. Sending strength and peace to everyone that knew and loved her.

Kayla was such a sweet, beautiful, talented young lady. And I am truly happy that I got to know her. She lit up the room with her sweet smile and beauty in and out. I am so sadden that she is no longer with us. I am so so sorry for you loss, I can't imagine what you are going through. Love to all of you.
