I knew Katie just recently these last couple of years from our swim team. As a single mom, too, we bonded over our kids and struggles and Irish heritage. Katie had a light that no one can turn off. I was in awe of her style and accomplishments and constant enthusiasm and joy about anything to do with Megan. Katie was an instant friend and I’m going to miss her every day. Megan, there is no doubt her spirit lives on in you. Your bright smile is a reflection of her heart. xoxo

I remember this day, I was having a tough time, my relationship was ending and I was trying my best to be in good spirits to celebrate the new couple (Lynn & Gemma). Katie must have realized, she walked up and grabbed my arm and said, “let’s take a photo”. She made me feel better and I love this photo of us.

Everyone has captured Katie’s essence so eloquently. If every picture told a story, so many to tell. I am so grateful for my time shared with Katie during her short life. My heart is deeply broken accepting that she is gone. My sincere condolences to Megan and the Hurley family. Wrapping my arms around you Meg; squeezing you tight beautiful girl.
In our hearts forever Katie; RIP
Your New York City Family

You were my absolutely favorite West coast woman, so much life, such a presence , classy innovator, great ideas and discipline to spare. I still remember when you asked me to let you use my kitchen to arrange for flowers for a friend's wedding , you did the entire work all by yourself ,you got the idea and you executed better then a professional could , with passion and heart, the final bouquet where stunning, lucky your friend's on the receiving end all while proving me wrong. It was such a joy to find you dining at Aroma solo or with friends, just to listen to your ideas, your crazy unconventional schemes, just your path in life and your joyful approach and confidence was very unique and daring at the same time. Megan I'm so sad and emotional for your, our loss, I'm sure you will find out more and more what a Superwoman your mother was and soon you'll show everyone how infectious and inspirational she is been to us all. Big warm hugs!
Much Love and Heartfelt Sympathy to the Hurley Family.
