Kathy R. Tackett, 63, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at her home in Martinsville.

She was born Monday, February 27, 1956 to the late L. Lincoln and Dorothy C. (Phillips) Etchison in Martinsville. On October 5, 1991, she married her husband, Phillip D. Tackett who passed away June 25, 2012.

Kathy was a proud employee of Fed Ex and took great pride in the work that she did. She loved traveling to the beach and working outside around the house. She also loved relaxing with a bubblebath or a good book. Kathy enjoyed and took care of her animals too. Above all, however, she loved her family. Her children and grandchildren came first in her life and she treasured every moment she had with them.

Surviving her in death are her sons, Robert D. Tackett of Martinsville and Frank J. Minardo of Martinsville; daughter, Francisca Early of Freedom; brothers, Gary E. Etchison of Martinsville, James R. Etchison of Martinsville, David E. Etchison of Mishawaka; sister, Sandra J. Randolph of Mooresville; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Phillip D. Tackett; parents, L. Lincoln and Dorothy Etchison; brothers, Rick D. Etchison and Larry L. Etchison; sisters, Natalie Sue Rondolone and Carol Sue Etchison.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2020 at Costin Funeral Chapel.
