Kathy's obituary

It is with heavy hearts, we share that Kathy Kunka (Kathy Louise McKeough Kunka)

She was called to Heaven on November 4th. She was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully after a long battle of cancer.

She was born on a beautiful day on June 25, 1956 in Grand Rapids Michigan, to her beloved parents, John and Barbara McKeough. Her family moved to Bellevue Washington. Graduating in 1974 from Interlake H. S. Then attending Central Washington University.

After moving back, she started working for Seattle City Light. That's where she met her husband, her love, Bill. Later on, she worked in the Galley on the ferry for years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Barbara, her Aunt Pat, and brother Kip McKeough.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Bill. Her sister, Kolly and her husband Jim Pray. Her daughters, Haley and Carly. Haley is in a loving relationship with Joe her partner. Carly is married to James. And the cherry on top, her grandson, Logan.

Kathy was a glowing light to any room she entered. Her contagious laugh, radiant smile and beautiful heart could lift the mood of all those around her. She would always have a helping hand for those in need without question. She was an inspiration and example of what we can follow.

Our family was beyond blessed to have had her as long as we had.

She took pride in sharing her love with others. She made lifelong friends that adored her. She was the most devoted and amazing Mother. Not just to us but to all of our friends. She loved her grandson, Logan with all of her heart. She couldn't of been more proud to be his Grammy.

She lived a full life. A life filled with love and adventure. Especially traveling. It was important to her that we were together experiencing it. We went from Washington to Florida, New York, California and in between. But she always had a special place in her heart for Kauai. It was so special to her. She made sure we always went back with our family & friends for vacation as she did as a little girl.

Kathy's favorite things were anything with her family, fishing, crabbing, boating swimming and being in the sunshine. She loved cooking and always had wonderful new recipes for us to try. All of her favorite things live on through her daughters.

There are so many things, jokes, amazing adventures and stories to share.

She was the ultimate wife, mother, Grammy & friend.

She was so incredibly funny, loving and all-around star of the show!

She is deeply loved and missed and will never be forgotten.

We will be celebrating her Life at the Indianola Clubhouse on April 22nd at 2pm.

We would love for all who shared love for this incredible woman to please join us.
