Kathy's obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kathy Kyle, a woman of exceptional spirit and kindness, on October 25, 2025. Born on March 9, 1962, Kathy led a life marked by love, laughter, and a truly remarkable work ethic.

Kathy is survived by her beloved daughter, Lauren Looney, her granddaughter Jacie Dobbs, and grandsons Sean and Luke Rackley, whom she cherished dearly. Her siblings, Jim Kyle, Crystal Kyle, and Cindy Lesmeister, along with many cousins will continue to carry her memory. She is also remembered by several very close friends who supported and cared for her in countless ways, and whom she considered family. Additionally, Kathy is remembered by her colleagues from the City of Fort Worth Water Department, where she worked with dedication until her retirement in 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emory and Lilly Kyle.

Kathy brought joy to everyone she encountered. Her open, friendly nature and her love of sharing stories made her cherished by many. In her lifetime, she never met a stranger. Her favorite saying, “It is what it is,” reflected her optimistic outlook on life—a lesson she imparted to all who knew her.

A devoted fan of NCIS, Kathy also had a deep passion for sports, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, and Texas Rangers. She had a particular fondness for spice cake, which she specifically requested on the day of her retirement. Her work with the City of Fort Worth brought her immense pride, and her many achievements and awards are a testament to her dedication and hard work.

Kathy leaves behind a profound legacy. Her influence is felt in her family and in the community that knew and loved her. Her daughter, Lauren, and her three grandchildren—Jacie, Sean, and Luke—are living testaments to her love and spirit. There is no doubt that Kathy’s positivity and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those she touched.

We will deeply miss Kathy, but we also celebrate her life and the joy she brought to us all. We find comfort in knowing that her laughter, stories, and love will echo in our lives forever.
