My sweetest memory of Kathy was actually just last year, when I came to visit her. She had some paint cans that needed to be tossed out, but she said she just didn't know what to do with them. I said we would haul them to the car and go dump them in a dumpster. She said we might get in trouble, and I said nobody is going to arrest two old gals! But we waited until dark, and then we drove until we found a dumpster, and worked as fast as we could to get rid of those cans! Then a few days later, she needed to get rid of her microwave. Well, we didn't know what to do with that, but came up with the idea of dropping it off at Goodwill. We felt kind of bad, because we knew they would ask if it was in working order, which it wasn't. So, Kathy drove the "getaway" car to Goodwill, I jumped out and dumped that thing right out front, and we took off, just cracking up like a couple of kids! From then on, we called each other Thelma and Louise. I would call her and say, "whatcha doin" Louise? I'd give anything to pick up the phone and be able to say that now. I miss her terribly, and we will never know the pain she was truly in towards the end, because she never went on and on about anything. She just seemed to accept her fate, that cancer would win in the end, but she sure fought the good fight. May she rest in peace until we meet again. Love you Louise!
