The Broken Chain

We knew little that morning that

God was going to call your name,

In life we loved you dearly,

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

You did not go alone.

For part of us went with you,

The day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories,

Your love is still our guide,

And though we cannot see you,

You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,

And nothing seems to be the same,

But as God calls us one by one,

The chain will link again.

One aspect of Kathy that I will never forget was her sense of humor. She loved to laugh and was always willing to go as crass with her humor as she wanted. Some of the gags she shared with me left me doubled over in tears, and of course, there's always something fun about hearing a joke most would consider too old for your ears at the time. Humor has and always will be one of the best ways to break down barriers. It speaks to a spirit of fun and enjoyment that everyone in the universe can relate to in some form.  Kathy recognized this, and I still remember when she handed me a book titled "The Book of Dirty Jokes," and I could not wait to share as many of them with my peers as possible. That book still occupies a place in my library, and it will forever stand as a testament to the wonderful, fun-loving person Kathy was to us all.  

Kathy loved the Lord and she loved her family and friends. Her light was taken too soon but we know she lives in the lives of those she touched. Lupe we are here for you Should you need anything. Our hearts and prayers are with you all.

Remembering my mom

My Aunt. She was amazing.  Truly loved by me and my wife.  My heart truly breaks over the loss of my Aunt. It felt just like yesterday that I was visiting her. Her gracious soul will always be remembered.  To my Uncle. We love you. Words could never express my emotions.  Truly heaven has another angel.  Her name is Kathy Trevino.  We will miss you Aunt Kathy.
