I first met her for a lunch at Carrabba's Italian Grill in east Plano. It was Jenny, Lisa, my mother and I. It was then that I quickly realized where Lisa inherited her old fashioned southern charm. I always enjoyed visiting Jenny and Sam at their beautiful home in North Carolina. They made me feel so welcome and special. I'll never forget Jenny's kind heart and sense of humor, nor will I forget those delicious desserts which she once made sure I had plenty of for my long drive back to Texas.
I never had the honor to meet her, and yet I know what a kind and thoughtful person she had to be. I see those qualities in Lisa daily. She always puts others first, even when she needs to put herself first sometimes (leaving cash and a note to whoever was stealing gas from her car). I love you so much and I know your mom is very proud of the woman you are, so am I. You are a living example of your mom’s values. 🤗😘
One of my favorite things about the end of my summer visit with Geri and Bud, was knowing I could visit at Aunt Ginny's house and see Lisa and Lee. Aunt Ginny always made me feel not only welcomed but that I was part of the family. I loved her beautiful and warm smile. She had the best "RED" kitchen in the world. I have a red kitchen now because of her influence. Being from Georgia, I never understood the "Potted Pine tree," but now I would probably Pot a "Mesquite Tree, " here in Georgia just to be tied to my Texas roots. I am so sorry that I can't be there. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
I meet Jenny and Sam through Lisa, being best friends. The first time I meet Jenny I felt loved and totally welcomed into the family. I loved going to visit, just getting to talk, getting to play games, going shopping, and of course cooking and eating. I just loved the way Jenny made everyone feel special and important. I know that we will miss her here, but heaven is having a major party. And we will have have a great party with her later. I love the Yerby family!
Thank you Jenny for 50+ years of memories. Weddings, anniversaries, holidays, bowl games, chili pie and pound cakes. Thank you for loving my brother and being his soul mate. Jenny, always remembered, you will be missed.
Jenny loved her family and always wished nothing but the best for them. She was very proud of Lisa, Lee, and Ben and all their accomplishments. Sam was loved by her very much. Jenny was very giving, for example: during a visit I commented on a cute purse she had; the next time I saw her she had me the purse. Jenny was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
