Our remembrance of Kathy is summed up in more than one verse. Some that come to mind in our 3+ decade loving memory of Kathy are:
- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18." Rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks," Kathy was the best example we have encountered. Whenever we were with her she always exuded this calm faith in our Lord. Raelee
- 1 Peter 4:9-10. "Be hospitable to one another....serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." Kathy and Larry volunteered and put me up in their home the many times I traveled to Portland on business. Mike
- 1 Corinthians 13: 13. "Three things remain faith, hope and love; but the greatest of these is love ." Kathy was always a personal and public testimony to faith, hope and love as she lived, practiced and struggled with trying personal, family or circumstantial issues. All of us have these issues. Kathy showed us the 'gold standard' we try to live up to daily. Mike and Raelee
- As we remember Kathy our prayer for the future is John 14:2 "In my Father's house are many dwelling places." We hope ours is next to yours as we look forward to our reunion with Kathy in heaven with our Lord

When I think of Kathy, I think of a consistently joyful spirit. Even though I know she endured a lot physically, it was clear that her hope and confidence were in her Lord Jesus. She was a blessing, and I know God will provide His comfort for those left behind.

Kathy was a great blessing to all of us at the India national inland mission of which she and her husband Larry have been board members for 30 years
The founder of the mission Dr. Paul Pillai brought them to us when he observed their heart for missions, which is certainly evident in this tribute written by Kathy’s family
May the fruits of her labors in the Lords, work and serviceContinue until our Lord returns

John 11:25 “I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies”
My family & I are forever grateful to our Lord for Kathy & Larry Vonada, who the Lord alone sovereignly orchestrated to cross paths with my dad in Southern California over four decades ago! Then later being an integral part on the ministry Board.
I fondly remember staying at the Vonadas when they used to live in Tigard OR. I can never forget their extraordinary Christian love and hospitality! I was deeply encouraged & moved by personally witnessing Kathy’s passion & devotion for that precious Word of God & a lifestyle of consistent prayer. She spoke most lovingly and hopefully of her children and grandchildren.
At moments like this, when I see the eternal promotion of a saint of God, like Kathy, I am reminded again… this life is so temporal & a mere vapor.
Thank you Kathy for your example of commitment & faithfulness to your husband and children.
We love you Vonadas and are praying for you all especially at this time!!
Psalm 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants.”

Beautiful memories of a precious gentle loving and fun friend and sister in Christ. I will miss Kathy’s sweet friendship and will surely see her soon. My heart and prayers for her amazing Larry ask the Lord to give him and their children, and grandchildren tangible evidence of His Presence in comfort, faith, and love.
